Walking and Hiking

Whether you prefer a gentle amble along the base of the Glen along the River Almond, or a bracing hike to the top of a Munro, Auchnafree has a huge variety of walks to suit all ages. We particularly recommend walking through the Glen – cresting the gentle climb to see Loch Tay spread before you makes for a stunning view and perfect picnic stop. A fabulous circular route takes in the highest two hills of Ben Chonzie and Auchnafree Hill with spectacular views of the whole Glen.

If you are planning a hill walk and would like to check what is going on please do not hesitate to get in touch. Please be aware that there is very little mobile signal within the Glen, and we strongly recommend hikers come with appropriate footwear and maps. Scotland is, after all, famous for offering four seasons of weather in a day!

Fishing

The dedicated sportsman can try casting for brown trout on the River Almond that runs through Auchnafree Estate.

Permits can be purchased, please add to your booking if coming to stay with us or contact us.

E-Bikes

Auchnafree is a fabulous place to explore on foot, but our E-bikes can provide an excellent adventure. If you are coming to stay with us at Auchnafree, why not give them a go! The bikes can be added to your accommodation booking.

The bikes are suitable for all abilities and we have two bikes available in different sizes. Helmets will be provided if required. You must agree to our terms of conditions (link?) on booking and sign our declaration form provided to you on arrival before the bikes are taken.

Information on suggested routes can be found on websites such as All Trails. Please be aware that the lack of signal at Auchnafree means forward planning is essential for safety.

Prices £60 per 24 hour hire period. See our E-bikes page for terms and conditions.
